First thing is to check the last payslip assume got 2 weeks or 1 month for each year service served calculated correctly including your unconsumed leave etc

If you get laid off when over the age of 50, you will most probably have to turn to gig work. Several of my former classmates from secondary school, JC and NUS are driving cabs or PHVs. It's an honest day's living and nothing to be ashamed of. Life just dealt them a poor card, and they have gone with the flow after falling off the cliff.

There are enough snakes in Parliament convincing their colleagues that it is good for SG to bring in cobras to populate our country. Imagine absorbing unemployed PMEs from India while our own NUS, NTU and SMU grads are unemployed or underemployed.

I am approaching my mid-50s, and already considering early retirement. It is only the fear of boredom and possible cognitive decline that is holding me back.
