Poly grads face worse job prospects in 2024 as hiring demand, vacancies decline, says Chan Chun Sing

The drop in poly grads' employment in 2024 was likely due to lower hiring demand and fewer job vacancies, Education Minister Chan Chun Sing said in Parliament on 4 February. He noted that while health sciences and humanities graduates maintained strong outcomes, those in engineering and tech faced higher unemployment. This was partly due to sectoral shifts, such as the downturn in the tech industry, he added.
