Full Version: China controls 90% of global rare earth!

China does not control 90% of global rare earth exports, but it does dominate the industry in other ways:

China produces about 60-70% of the world's rare earth minerals, down from 90% in 2008.

However, it processes nearly 90% of the world's rare earths, giving it significant control over the supply chain.

This dominance extends to refined products like rare earth metals and alloys, where China accounts for approximately 90% of global production.

Thus, China's influence lies primarily in its processing capabilities rather than raw material extraction.
Game over for USA

No rare earth, will decimate your technological industries

Finito!!
The Military Industrial Complex in the U.S. will suffer, they will not have enough rare earths needed to make F35 fighters, satellites, spaceships, missiles, tanks, weapons, submarines, warships, aircraft carriers, medical equipments and even mobile phones.

Trump wants to find alternate sources of rare earths in Greenland and Ukraine, however it is hard to get hold of Greenland and hard to mine the rare earths there, the rare earths in Ukraine are limited, not the types the U.S. is after. Ukraine only has uranium and lithium for making batteries. Most importantly no country is capable of processing / refining huge quantities of rare earths than China, 90% of rare earths in the world is processed in China.

Australia is also doing rare earth mining with Msia, however the output is too small to meet the U.S. consumption

U think US dont know all about this? Lol...
Fake news that china has so much rare earth

No one can confirmed that

I believe they dun know

I wudn't be surprised Trump will kneel when China does a full spectrum ban on rare earth to USA

Dun under estimate the stupidity of Trump, like relying on an idiot like Navarro to craft his tariff strategy

It's decisively over for USA Trump

The next stage is physical war and that again is already included in China's full spectrum retaliation on USA

Ask your relatives and friends to get out of USA asap

At least you can be useful to them for once

It is not about how much rare earths China has but how the U.S. processes & refines rare earths…the U.S. has more rare earths than Ukraine and many other countries, however in terms of the processing it has to ship the raw materials to China for processing. 90% of the rare earths in the world is processed in China. In order to change that, the U.S. has to develop own rare earths processing facilities and it takes decades to make it happen.

After China banned the export of rare earths, many Americans began to discuss rare earths, including Musk. It was till yesterday they realized that China's monopoly is not on rare earth resources, but on rare earth refinling technology. It was till yesterday they found out that rare earths are essential in fields such as military equipment and engine. Typical American, ignorant and arrogant.

I believe that many members of Trump's cabinet are also that amateur. China has warned many times that it would retaliate against US sanctions. China has previously restricted the export of some rare metals couple times. That's clearly warning sign. However, Trump still "bravely" launched the tariff war against China. So what do you expect?
As I have said, the moment China bans rare earth to America, it is essentially game over for Trump

And this is exactly what Xi did

Sources said already reduced to almost zero since last year, ban in particular to 99% US military complex.
US is now using its old stockpile,
IT and several industries are  competing with their military complex to get hold of it in remaining market.

Cn start to tighten specialized metals.

What are five new critical metal exports restricted by China?
Feb 4, 2025China has imposed export restrictions on five essential metals, including tungsten and indium, which are crucial for defense, clean energy, and other industries. This move came shortly after the U.S. implemented additional
Maybe the best is no earth than no more conflict and tariffs here and there
