Tampines residents swarmed by 'plague' of cicadas, some use umbrellas to shield themselves from insects

As cicadas are not considered pests, the Town Council cannot reportedly use insecticides on them.

Unlike the wooh wooh birds, I actually like the sound of cicadas though I wouldn't want them in my house. Google says the insects live for 5 weeks above ground before dropping dead and the swarming is more a seasonal phenomenon. Just use papers to swat them off can liao.
