I guess some pple fail to catch the full REAL story what the Saudi, like Pakistani, has been doing with their military supplier diversification plan. Big Grin

Feb 2024 (DEFENCE SECURITY ASIA) — Saudi Arabia remains one of the largest buyers of Chinese-made arms in the Middle East, emerging as the first export customer for the high altitude long endurance (HALE) drone “Wing Loong-10B” (WL-10B). Developed by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), the “Wing Loong-10B” will serve with the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF).

Now tt Saudi is buying arms from the US and rejected the buying of China’s J-35A Fighter Jet, will China warns Saudi if this buying of military stocks from the US is part of the tariff deal? China has warned UK on the UK-US deal, claiming the deal is a “poison pill” worse than TRUMP’s tariff

https://defencesecurityasia.com/en/saudi...-the-gulf/
SCMP claimed tt Saudi is the winner btw the US and China. Since they hv stroked a deal with deal and rejected the buying of China’s J35 fighter jets, will China now undercut the US, offering FOC or cheaper military supplies to win back Saudi? Y Saudi is not afraid China will take revenge by not buying oil from Saudi?

Quote:China is the world’s largest consumer of Middle Eastern oil, buying US$186 billion worth from Iran, Israel and the Gulf Cooperation Council in 2023, and its exports exceeded US$138 billion, led by machinery and parts.

While there were announcements of significant Saudi investment commitments in the U.S., the actual value and implementation of these investments have not been fully realized. The White House announced a $600 billion commitment, but the actual investment amount detailed in a fact sheet was only $282 billion. This discrepancy highlights that not all announced investments materialize, and the $600 billion figure is not a guaranteed investment amount.
Here's a more detailed explanation:

Discrepancy in Announced vs. Actual Investments:
The White House initially announced a $600 billion investment commitment from Saudi Arabia. However, the fact sheet provided with the details only listed $282 billion in specific deals. This indicates that not all announced investments were finalized or materialized.
    Ongoing Investment Discussions:
The U.S. and Saudi Arabia continue to have ongoing discussions and negotiations regarding potential investments, but the actual value and scope of these investments are still evolving.
    Factors Affecting Investment Realization:
Numerous factors can influence whether announced investments are fully realized. These factors can include economic conditions, geopolitical events, changes in government policy, and the overall health of the U.S. and Saudi Arabian economies.
    No Guarantee of Specific Investments:
While Saudi Arabia is a major trading partner of the U.S. and has invested in the U.S. in sectors like transportation, real estate, and automotive, there is no guarantee that all announced investment commitments will be fully implemented.

Huh? The J-35 was newly added to the Chinese forces only 6 months ago. Who claims it is for foreign sale so soon ?

TS sudden interest in China's international arm sales considering the recent Pakistan-vs-India air war when Chinese-made J-10 fighters have been credited in shooting down several Indian air force jets... Big Grin

Chinese J-10 fighters along with a Y-20U aerial refueling tanker & KJ-500 AWACS aircraft, were deployed in Egypt for several weeks of exercise.

Israel reportedly was concern that the Egyptians may acquire the J-10 + long-range PL-15 missiles. The Egyptians just like the Pakistani, also fly the F-16 but denied the long range AIM-120 missile by the US.

You seem to be only interested in why Saudi not buying from China .

When US stopped Saudi from using planes against Israel, Saudi will buy all planes from China.

Why buy from US when you can't use for war ?

Then Pakistan reported procurement of J-35 jets from China in Dec 24 is a fake?  Pakistan a faking country full of fake news? Also China display of J-35 at air show was only for show and not for taking orders?  So Saudi cannot say they rejected J35.

F-35 is only 5th generation fighters. Nothing to talk about.

J-35 is 6th generation fighters. China is leading.

US has nothing on 6th generation fighter jets yet.

Saudi prefers to buy F35 but US was reluctant to sell.

Not reluctant to sell.

Can't make F35 without rare earth lah.

.
At one stage,  they wanted to buy non-American fighter jet such as J35 or fighter jet made by Turkey. In March 2025, they rejected offer of J35 from China

Quote:The Saudi interest in the F-35 has been longstanding, with the kingdom expressing its desire to purchase these fifth-generation jets as early as 2017. However, the U.S. has been reluctant to approve such sales, primarily due to concerns about maintaining Israel's qualitative military edge, as well as Saudi Arabia's involvement in the Yemeni civil war and its human rights record

Which part of the story is corroborated by the Chinese ?

Also, which part of that Saudi-story came from the Saudi themselves other than a story from Indian news ?

TS still remain as clueless that J-35 remains China-operated 5th gen stealth fighter just like the J-20.  Big Grin

Now tt Saudi has signed the intend to buy arms from the US and openly rejected the offer of J35,  just wondering will China take revenge not to buy oil from Saudi?  Now Trump said it will strike a deal with Iran.  It appears like Trump is making attempts to upset China’s influence in the Middle East.  Will China b very pissed off with Saudi and Iran?

You are too myopic.

China is too busy on their military toys manufacturing. This is why US got the opportunity to get the deal from Saudi.
It is good that US “steal” this deal.

Recent J10CE fantastic result will make China military sector very busy.

Don't give such fake news of Saudi rejecting J-35. First, it is China would sell J-35 to Saudi or not. It is 6th generation fighter, no sell one.

See below, Saudi is in the queue for J-10 C lah.

It’s more than aircraft.

Saudi, UAE and Qatar want US presence in the Middle East to defend against Turkey (revanchist Ottoman Empire dreams) and Iran/Iraq (Shia hardliners) who have deep influence on Syria, Lebanon and Yemen.

Saudi, UAE and Qatar also have no problems with Israel, a major US ally.

It’s not that Saudi/UAE/Qatar don’t like China but China cannot provide the same kind of military presence and security as the US does, and China has not yet shown their commitment to be involved in the Middle East.

They like Chinese investment and Chinese purchases of oil products. But if they had to CHOOSE, for their own existential concerns, they would choose USA over China.
Saudi Arabia was poised to join BRICS, but pulled out of the recent BRICS summit at the last minute. Now they are not so hot about joining already, especially after the Israel Palestinian conflict which drew in Lebanon, Syria and Yemen (widely believed to be Iran proxies)

They must have done their calculations and realised that they cannot join the other side against the USA, for their own survival.
