You can bring an Indian out of India but you can never remove "India" from an Indian...Big Grin

Garg Prasha, 30, entered the Charles & Keith store at Terminal 2 after arriving from India. Deputy Principal District Judge Luke Tan said Garg had committed the offence less than an hour after arriving in Singapore. "The only saving grace was that the bag was recovered, but she has been effectively caught red-handed here," said the judge. The criminal was given a fine of $700 after pleading guilty to one count of theft.

Another caught on the same day is Goenka Simran, 29, who was sentenced on June 16 to eight days' jail after she pleaded guilty to one count of theft in dwelling. Another similar charge was taken into consideration during her sentencing. She had also flown into Singapore on June 2 and was waiting in transit for her connecting flight to Bali at Terminal 3. “She was supposed to be in Singapore for only 10 hours, but she decided to help herself to the goods worth more than $500 in total during that time,” said the judge.

Both transiting travelers knew each other and had flew into SG from India, on June 2 and stayed in transit at Changi Airport, before their flight to Bali.

Caught red- handed so she was fined $700

If she surrenders herself, the law allows her to get away free?

The more we build terminals from T2 to T5, the more thefts we see in Singapore. Maybe the Founders Memorial is a good choice for them to enjoy without stealing anything.
