A lot of westerners dunno lah. That's why new to the writer.

A lof of people (at least those here) will know Yiwu City by now but I like that he wrote about the food in Yiwu, the Muslim population there, the skyline and that its population is bigger than Jinhua, which Yiwu is under the jurisdiction of.

I went there about 10 years ago. My wife likes the shoes. Cheap and good. But minimum purchase: 20 pairs! 

My neighbour's girl went to yiwu and zhuhai a few times each yr to 扫货, then sell online. She's been doing very well
