IF I him, I just " keep quiet " wash hand off from ANY things related to Gov stuffs. Instead what " want people remember you ? your credit last time in HDB ? or what agenda behind suddenly speak out ? "
I mean the future just let the next gen in charge go plan , why you bother since ALREADY retire
He has not retired. Still working in his own company since 2017. He left civil service in 1992 and worked in private sector since then.

One can credit the successful of HDB to him but it is unfortunate that he left the civil service in the 90s. However, as he said, the 10 million population was already embedded in the early HDB master plan but not sure they have changed it after he left. His aim for the 10 million population is not immediate but for a long tern sustainability. like 100years and most probably majority of us including himself will no longer be around. So there is slight tilt by the politicians here to achieve 10 millions in a shorter span for 'unknown' reasons . I believe Mr Liu meant good. Just look at his warning of Singaporean falling into complacency thus lost our competitive edge is very real.
Believe in his warning, he is still very well respected and connected
Yah agreed. Long term anything can happen. Our islands, land reclamation, maybe even buy other islands? New tech ?
Definitely not in our life time. The tiger has a vision but not politically digestible at the moment.
