The vaccine will be produced in India by the Serum Institute of India. Novavax has committed to deliver at least 1.1 billion doses of the vaccine to the Philippines and India through the global Covax Facility.
In a statement, Faberco said Novavax plans to apply for an emergency use listing with the World Health Organization in August as well as for EUAs in other countries.
The FDA is also studying Sinovac's application to modify its EUA to allow its CoronaVac vaccine to be used on children.
