Scams is just one form vulnerabilities.
Recently we heard of all sorts of software vulnerabilities that can result in your PC or handphone being hacked.

The recent one is Log4j which hackers can take over control of your computer stealing your passwords and authentication.

Log4j was only discovered by chance by Alicloud engineer doing testing. If he did not find before hackers ...imagine what can happen?

Who is responsible if something happens?

If you wake up one day and all your life savings is gone because hackers emptied your account through your phone and PC.

Right now they are virtualise tokens to put on PC and handphones that can be hacked.Did they even think of the risk? Or they think only of cost savings.

Every year hackers find new ways to hack PC and phones.

We have to ensure security and protect the people.

Don't say cannot.

During pandemic when the need arise they roll out millions of trace together tokens. Nobody ever asked how much it costs because it is important.

We already had OneKey which can be used across financial institutions to save and share the cost. Why not revive it?

After the OCBC incident ....everyone is now fearful.
Better to use your PC or laptop to do any financial transactions and then switch off after use. Where else your HP is always on 24/7. Not safe if the HP is always on wifi. So using Laptop for transaction and digital token on HP is quite safe, better than all transactions on HP alone.

Those who bought SembMarine at $1.80 lost all

You don’t know OCBC got P pple on the board. Rotfl
They says that “dont put everything in one basket” so better to do financial transactions in one computer and get digital token in a separate h/p or token.

So a physical token isbetter in this case

Yes otherwise one hack all gone.
That is why DBS is best. Unless you lost your HP
Phishing , scamming is like attacking our banking financial institutions , no different from a terrorist attack on our creditability, trust , stability ,csecurity of the nation.

This calls for A1 central defence force against all phishings, scammings , hacking from outside our little island...
If we cant even protect against IT sabotages, terrorists, our sovereignty at stake!

DBS  outsourced IT service!

Dangerous!
Irresponsible G will breed Irresponsible Companies.

G can even blame construction firm when they did not check the work done, yet they made the payment out.

Then what is the point of having a Legal Dept in PUB who did not sue the construction firm before it happened?

So many JLB in Stat Boards.

Shameless jokers.

There is nothing in IT that is 100% secure. Earlier days, I hear of 5x9s or 99.7 in rough terms. But now at best it is 97.9%. I suspect its due to the sophistication of hackers today.
1 or 2 case means edge access has problem.
too many cases means service provider also has problem.
