Success is merely a construct created by others in society for us to chase.

Similarly when you work for a company it create goals and targets for you to chase. If you fulfil you are a success otherwise you lose.

The results of this is we live lives defined by others..without realising this all our lives ...sometimes until we die.

Epictetus ..idea is we should live on our own terms and not be pull by the nose by society and others.

Do not let the dictates of others shape you.
It is a illusory. The value in life is not jn material...cars or house or holidays...it is much more important...

Our stresses and burdens comes from trying to meet expectation of others. These expectations in turn may be driven by greed, lust and other human weaknesses.
