Covid: Hong Kong's hospitals overwhelmed amid spike in cases

Hong Kong's healthcare system has been overwhelmed by a huge surge in Covid-19 cases, with infected patients being treated outside crowded hospitals.

The government has admitted it is struggling to contain the fifth wave of infections, fuelled by Omicron. But it has ruled out a city-wide lockdown.

They take it very seriously. Our airline is already banned for 2 weeks. One is aiming for Zero. We aim for herd immunity. The one case of child death shocked them. The rest are old people.

China must have know of something which we did not know.

For inactivated is that your bodies will fight only when the viruses enter the bodies.

I am not concern about how serious they take…. but the question is WHY is their hospitalisation is so high? Medical system near collapse and have to lockdown.
SG, everyday infection rate 10-15,000 average and yet no stress on our medical system. We are opening up more

What is the key difference between SG and Hon Kan

Our system have overflown long ago ever since "it is your own responsibility" was used. We have invested a lot on the medical infrastructure than them. Their population is bigger than us.

That is when Delta was the main star and infection was much lesser compared to Omicron. Now we close to 20k everyday but our medical system, no stress.  Best we are opening up more.

What the difference between SG & Hon Kan? You know why?
Our news cover up. No one dare to report.

So you dun know the answer, why the difference between SG and Hon Kan
HK did not turn away anybody who turn up at hospital while dumb sheep were asked to stay home...???
Singapore uses home recovery while HK don't have.

Bingo!
They are more caring than ours.

Why stay in hotel when can recover safely at home? You have any explanation?

Most probably because of the vaccination rate. HK's vaccination rate is lower than Singapore's by quite a bit. 1st does is at 84.5%, so not too bad. 2nd does is only at 74.9%. Booster shot is really bad at 19.8%.

People without vaccination tend to have it worse than those who are vaccinated fully.

Maybe you know why?
Singapore's hotels are also used for quarantine. Paid by our government. I tried to book the hotel room, some said they are fully booked by our government.

Oh, that could be the explanation. Why are their booster rate so low?
Once Covid over they will laugh at us...for high dead rate

Then why not Hon Kan adopt the same strategy instead of overcrowding the hospital and making the medical system in the verge of collapse?
Hong Kee are not easy to handle like Singaporean.

But right now Hon Kan seems like they to wanna catch up with us
They will not catch up.

HK: 3 deaths. Singapore: 13.

The elderly there are saying no to vaccination.

How to beat Singapore when they are well below?

In Singapore the very sick are housed in ICU, the less sick which need oxygen supplementation will also be warded in the hospital, the others will be stay home to recover.......
You can choose to be at government facilities like hotels or home.

The wave is coming to an end soon. HK and China will likely open up in the 2nd half of the year.

They are facing the 5th wave …. maybe this will give them chance to chase us down
If Hong Kong don't lockdown, their people mix is very diverse, most will be infected with low vaccination rate.
