According to Russians, Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani fled from the Taliban in four cars and a helicopter filled with cash and had to leave some behind because it wouldn’t all fit in.
Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani reportedly fled Kabul for Tajikistan on Sunday after Taliban* militants stormed the Afghan capital without a fight.
Former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, who stepped down to prevent further violence in his country, was escorted out of Kabul on Monday by cars loaded with cash, according to a Russian Embassy spokesman.
The way Ghani fled Afghanistan was most eloquently characterised by the collapse of the regime: four cars were full of money, they tried to put some of the money into a helicopter, but everything did not fit. Some of the funds were also left on the runway, said Nikita Ishenko, a spokesperson for Russia’s diplomatic mission.
The diplomat emphasised that Moscow will not rush to recognise the new Afghan government, and that removing the Taliban from the list of terrorist organisations is out of the question at this time.
According to Kabulov, the relevant procedure must be initiated by the United Nations Security Council.
The Taliban stormed Kabul without a fight on Sunday, prompting President Ghani to flee the country. He explained that he did so to avoid bloodshed, and he also announced his resignation.
According to Ghani, the militant group may have won the “trial of sword and guns,” but it has yet to win the hearts of the Afghan people.
“Never in history has raw power given legitimacy to anyone and never will. [The Taliban] are now facing a new historic test: either they will protect the name and honour of Afghanistan or they will prioritise other places and networks”, Ghani argued in a post published on his Facebook page.

Same as Chiang Kai-Shek who shipped all the gold, silver and other national treasures to Taiwan when he and his gang fled Mainland China.

Taliban was able to fight USA and its allies for 20 years. It is an unformiable force.

20 years of finance, manpower, weapons and other resources. On top of these, they also had to take care of the welfare of the people in their territories.

Extremely difficult task and they made it! And managed to take over the whole Afghanistan within such a short time when foreign forces are withdrawing!

They have done an excellent job.

Don't ever look down on them!

Yarmai. The Mujahidins are unconquerable. The British forces lost them in the 1800s, the Soviets lost to them in the late 1970s.

US oso give up and pack bags go home. Unwinnable war. Need to supply the rebels now with weapons and fight their own wars. Really tragic turn of events. Countryman against countryman. Over what?
Afghan garment has 300k forces while Taliban only has 70k soldiers...when Taliban came all the garment soldiers fled...once they got caught Taliban will execute them all doesn’t matter they surrender or not, all very scared...Taliban has taken 90% of country within a week without fighting a war...the weapons they have are all US made, likely left behind by Afghan garment soldiers.

阿富汗是个怎样的政权?为何如此迅速瓦解?

JOE BIDEN'S AFGHANISTAN DISASTER
80% Afghan garment soldiers are illiterate, dunt know how to use toilet, very hard to train. They sell the US provided weapons to make money.

The thing is the evil US lose wars with no damage or sufferings to their own country or people. They inflict damage and sufferings to the winning countries and people. This one is the real chow angmo............ Angry
Afghanistan is one of the reason that cause the collapse of the Soviet Union. It bankrupted the latter. US went in and after so many years, it gave up. They must have also spend a lot of money.

Really depends on what is the definition of "winning".

If getting Saddam is the definition of "winning" then they "won" the 2nd Iraq War (2003-2011). It is an illegal war however as it is not approved by UN, unlike the Afghanistan War.

If the definition of "winning" in the 2nd Iraq War is to prove the existence of WMD then USA lost the war as the WMD were not found in Iraq.

If I am not wrong, US and allied forces waged war on Afghanistan becos of 911 when Al-qaeda militants attacked US Twin towers. That is why UN approved the attack on Afghanistan.
Aiyah, no need to keep and then get the cash out, just bank transfer will do. Simple, public and reporters cannot see. They must learn from Malaisai polititians
