According to French President Emmanuel Macron, Russian President Vladimir Putin is determined to achieve his goals in the Ukraine war.
In a telephone conversation, Putin assured the French President that he would prevail "either through negotiations or through war," the Elysée Palace said. The conversation lasted an hour and 45 minutes and was initiated by Macron.
Putin has assured Macron that "it is not his intention to carry out attacks on nuclear power plants" and that Russia intends to comply with the standards of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Elysee said. Macron, in turn, expressed his "serious concern" about the safety of Ukraine's nuclear facilities in the phone call, it said. "It is essential that concrete measures be taken to react to this".

Has IAEA said anything about the plant not complying? On other hand, the IAEA chief said it was "not normal" for Russia to take control of the nuclear plants and let Ukrainians continue to operate them.
