The booster shot is likely for Delta variant. That might be the reason why they are using it immediately. Imagine if they use a few months later, will it be useful for the new variant?

It should work unless other variants with more different in spike structure become dominant.
Immediate concern is whether taking another jab in less than a year may cause another round of inflammation.
