My uncle's ex- colleague who used to work in Siemens

He was also an Engineer then moved into HR

Now, in his late 50s and jobless too.

But I find that Engineer very funny

Why switch to HR?
So my uncle tried to help

By asking his cousin ( I don't know who)

Who was retrenched years ago from Mandarin Hotel

when Indonesian bought over the hotel
Seriously, for an engineer to go to HR means that he's totally not interested in technical work. Normally, not interested also means he's not good at it. HR is such a boring area.

Go CC?

I also went to CDC before

And the jobs are for Uneducated & N' levels type

Dishwasher, Kindergarten cook . . .etc

How many Singaporeans are illiterate to qualify for those jobs?

I do not believe that Govt is sincere in helping when they purposely want locals to be jobless or poorly employed in the first place.  Likely it is for show that they are plucking a twig to cane the victims of their policies.
Reading this, there seems to be scattered available help here and there but disintegrated with lack of clear goals under some form of supervisory but far from a perenial power of leadership. If CC, CDC and Fastjob ads are helping the lower educated workforce, while Careers Future is meant for FTs then locals are only left with Jobstreet and JobsDB. But companies advertising in these 2 portals will never want to consider the jobless. So it begs the question, why no Minister plug this hole?
