1. Singapore has always been in existence with people and rulers, way before Stamford Raffles came. Stamford Raffles robbed the land from the original occupiers and gave it a beautiful term "founded"! In reality, it was just a change of "ruler" to British Queen. When Singapore gained independence, Singapore became self-rule again.
2. China has been in existence for thousands of years and it is recorded in history. The only thing that really changed was the dynasty and the rulers. In Chinese, that is called 改朝换代, incase you don't know!
3. Civil war in China started between CCP and KMT never ended. There was no peace treaty or whatever. Hence, it can continue at anytime.
