The coronavirus will remain part of our lives for the time being. Reports of multiple infections are currently piling up. In England alone there have been hundreds of thousands of confirmed reinfections, even triple and quadruple infections have occurred. The next big wave threatens in autumn.
The British health authority UK Health Security Agency has announced that hundreds of thousands of people in England have been infected several times with the corona virus. By March 6th, 715,154 reinfections had officially occurred there. The statistics also show 7640 triple infections and at least 62 quadruple infections - always with an interval of about three months.
The protection of the Covid-19 booster vaccination against infection with omicron is less than the protective effect against the delta variant. An unaudited recent report by the Covid-19 team at Imperial College London estimates that the risk of reinfection with the omicron variant is 5.4 times greater than the risk with Delta.
