So many rich people in Singapore meh? I can't afford leh!
This is Khatib Central and next to NTUC. The food price must increase by 80% to slaughter the residents.
Seller huat har
Monthly rental is dame high in coffeeshop,, this reture to owner as sometime no customer also... feed also become worst.. how to survive..
Better eat at home everyday

Those working in that area and must have lunch

please change your job

instead of feeding the new owner fat
Where are the governing body gone to? Allowing speculation property to cause hardship to its citizens for their essential daily food to live? All this need to be stopped!
Dun be like another "Stop at Two" policy causing the country to lose many potential local breed Singaporean.

Looks like syndicated operation. ....

A sells his shop to B at astronomical price.
B gets a bank loan to pay. B then rents out to stall holders C at astronomical price.
C then sells his food to consumers D at astronomical price.

A and B are actually together sharing the loot. They are syndicate members squeezing blood money from consumer D through the stall renter C. (However D has a choice of not buying)......... Rolleyes

Which coffee shop is the next? Govt. can create more coffee shops to sell.

Definitely, there is something wrong with the valuations. Which goondo bank is lending the money?

Coffeeshops are usually under HDB blocks or nearby, right? HDB can benefit from that Golden Goose Egg leh! When you want to buy HDB flat, you must be ready to cough out more money lah! Very expensive leh! The money goes back to who leh?
I see all these takeovers at record prices and stall rent doubled as a very unhealthy trend. This will evolve in a few well loaded people controlling the f n b industries and the eventual sufferers are the consumers.

End of the day is YOU and ME , Consumers CAN CHOOSE.

UNLESS Suck thumb there is ONLY just one coffeeshop there serving the community OR you can just take feeder bus go nearby around your neighbourhood eat from other coffeeshop or walk there as " exercise " treat it your morning stroll walk than eat breakfast at other cheaper coffeeshop.

I not sure behind these landlord. Surely they have to increase rental to earn back from those hawkers rent their stall.
than Hawkers pass the cost to consumers " IF " They still want to stay renew contract.

So What " if " this coffeeshop all hawkers don't want to renew so how landlord find new hawker?
Another " Dumb " hawker will come to rent it so high than nearby coffeeshop? How he/she going to profit ? One bowl sell 10 dollars ?

UNLESS ALL COFFEESHOPS IN SG ARE LIKE THIS which is impossible. Surely some landlord don't want to sell to another owner as their location is good want to do continue do pass down to their generation.

Since like there is " trend "
After Property now back to retail rental but this time is Coffeeshop

Office rental also not say good since companies into WFH no need a big office. Save rental cost and resources.
Hope gov do something by allowing nearby shops to convert to small eating house.

WAIT LONG LONG,

The Current Govt is WAIT FOR THINGS HAPPEN Than Action see how to work out.
They done it before at Geylang Bahru, but is just beside and too near hawker centre, cannot works. They should do it on those sky high coffee shop places to kill off those unscrupulous behavior by big group.
This will causes food prices to increase n consumers not happy
Should have a capped selling price.
Although consumers have a choice, ultimately the gov has a responsibility to checkmate the greedy coffee shop owners in driving food prices artificially upward to feed their pockets at the expense of consumers.

What gov can do is to build hawker centers nearby these greedy coffee shops so that consumers have other sources to buy their cai png at reasonable prices. I noticed in many places hawker centers are very scarce leaving consumers with not much avenues to buy cheaper food except from these greedy coffee shops.
I tell you PAP better do something quick before the price of cooked food spiral out of control caused by a few greedy mother c-bai coffee shop owners. Of course a few smart azz guys will say people have a choice but end of the day sheep are sheep and will be slaughtered. Gov is elected by these sheep to protect them....... Rolleyes
