I can understand why India is desperate to "save public $"...But track records shows their defense policy had been squandering (aka Milking) the coffers for decades,

Given that the South Asia state is already the 3rd largest arms spender but with an economy as small as the UK which is just 5% of India's pop, it isn't t hard to understand why the Indians are MAD with the sudden change of employment term.. Now I can see why the British used to be the largest employer of Indian soldiers when "India" was a colony.

UK last month do mention cut their Civil servant jobs to save Public Funds.

I shall say every countries already standby for global recession wait come no money how?

Whereas we do the opposite. Than no enough money, again Squeeze us.

Partly why our Govt not say worry due to GST Hike coming next year which they mention CANNOT Delay anymore
By right is start 2 years back but who knows Covi19 come so they delay

also come GPS ERP , now due is chips shortage so delay but going to launch soon.

Still got misc charges for sure! Or else how SG Gov going to get ample money to feed so many civil servants lol and Next month their usual JULY mid year bonus coming

The figure. sir, may be a serious understatement. Wink

The thing about military career and profession is one is only useful when being constantly upgraded and re-trained...all need $.

But when soldiering become a way of keeping young people employed as part of political deal, which create a perception that military career  is an "iron rice bow"...then that can become a problem waiting to explode...Which is happening now in India during this economy stressful time.

I did a check on UK vs India cutting of spending...and notice this :
UK already wanna cut over 75,000 soldiers...No riot no violence...no LIttle India going up in smoke.
India wanna shorten soldier contract  time from 17years to 4 years...Whole country go berserk
While SG is keeping up with its defense expenditure while reducing NSF time to just 2 years form 2.5...

So I am a bit confused what ERP has got to do with the above ? Thinking
