By so rejection, US is reneging on its agreed One China Principle, the basis of the China/US relationship. It also implies that US is supporting the independence of Taiwan. Result: Impending confrontation between US and China over Taiwan.

China has to keep using USA for reunification. One willing one stubborn.

There is no need lah - Taiwan province had already been part of China long before US existed...and does not need the word "united" to make a point.
The irony is the USA has to sue the word "united" in order to sound like it is a country. In fact "United" is the 1st word in USA...

In other simple words of understanding:  the US supports the ROC's one China and not the CCP's one China.
