He was talking about the Progressive Wage Model for those Bottom 5 Lousy Unwanted Jobs -

Then he expects the cleaners to do their job because of pride?
Problems go unsolved as politicians pepper their talk with strange euphemisms.

It is frustrating as problems mount.

We have the MOST FTs in the world in comparison with our workforce size.

But FTs do not create enough good jobs so, it is about time to remove 20% of them.
The lower the wage = the lower the cost = the higher the profit = the easier it is to justify upper management survival promotion and bonus in some cases?

Cut upper management pay. They are paid too much for doing too little. A lot of them are paid more than the value they can generate for the company. Why must pay these kind of people so much?

Maybe they should simply lower their salary to $10k to understand the low wage workers.

And tell us if they can do the job not based on salary.

Agreed.  There must be a limit to the difference in pay between the highest paid and lowest paid worker.  A cleaner is a worker so is the CEO
If the CEO can fall into corruption lifestyle, how many layman has the potential to be the same. Fortunately majority still have conscience not to be morally corrupted. So pls dun exploit ppl to gain more for yourself.

Yet politicians are to be paid close to doctors, lawyers etc? Come on... Who is still a kindergarten kid? The PAP machinery is damn twisted...

It is ivory tower talk. How much does he pay his maid at home? Does he tip his driver every day?
Reason why the Upper Management must get salary increase promotion and bonus is because he or she interviewed you and gave you the job in the first place?

If not directly then the one who gave you the job was hired by Upper Management and therefore the latter must get the recognition?

It is also to stop headhunters and prevent corruption?

It's all about satisfying basic needs first, Maslow's hierarchy. Only when people get paid enough then they can talk about passion, or self-actualization.
