Govt want them to cover the cost of the new flat (the top up). 5yrs ago, the cost of average 4rm HDB is 50k cost (according to a hdb developer).

Well.... Govt do their sum well.. Big Grin

The Govt forced people into SERs and forced them to top up. To me, it sounds like like a Systematic Strategy to take advantage of the elderly by squeezing their blood dry.
