It is not true that I have only been to Taiwan. I have travelled to Malaysia and Indonesia (Batam)
It is not true that you become smart by travelling to other countries as a tourist. Tourists see mostly tourist sights and not the real life in a country.
I read widely to understand what goes on in a country.

I have both wins and losses. Those who attack me only pick losing trades and losing yr. I did well in all yrs except this tear mainly because of collapse of Chinese stocks which I have a fairly large allocation. I found not get everything perfectly right and have not found anyone with that ability

I have to disagree with your point about having read widely would allow you to give you a better understanding of the matters or country.
What’s written can be biased and misconstrued by the writer(s), and if you formed your opinion without having personally experienced or see them. In my opinion, you should not be giving your steadfast or firmed perception of the matters. Because you’re merely airing the writer’s point of views, which you have no means to confirm.
