All customers assumed that the price is reasonable, and thence had left it to the food vendor to quote the price.......

This is not about being shy but rather inconvenient as I can ask 5 or 10 prices but only order 2 meat and 1 vege and choke up a que behind.

funny is why must ask AS IS STANDARD MUST PUT THE PRICE for the foods, dishes

So far I see Hawker does put their pricing on the menu etc.

Of cuz be realistic you ask those you feel more expensive like fish etc and if hawker got warn ask exact price. No one say ask 5 or 10 for fun. Ask 1 or 2 you feel will be expensive. For me fish mutton beef I definitely ask. Chicken and pork usually ok

That is bad assumption IMHO. Deal with monies issue must be extra careful as you are paying. Unless you no need pay then ok lor

That is the tricky part vege disguise as meat. Which is why nowadays I seldom buy rice choose dish stall anymore. I buy those upfront you know pay how much meal like a bowl of laksa, lor mee, prawn noodle, chicken rice etc

Usually the price of  meat is more expensive than the price of vegetables...........

Most chap chai png stalls and Malay stalls don't display the price of their foods, therefore they are at liberty to charge any amount...........
