Big US Arms Transfer to Ukraine Is Substantial, but It Has Some Big Gaps.
It’s a lot of money but don’t expect big changes in the air or land war and probably it’s best not to trust the hype overly. Some serious line items are missing in Uncle Sam’s latest arms for Kyiv. 

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday confirmed a major US arms and assistance transfer to Ukraine, saying on his personal Telegram channel Kyiv would receive $7.9 billion in military support. He did not specify timelines.

Fires broke out at two oil depots in Russia's Voronezh Oblast and Perm Krai overnight on Oct. 4, local authorities reported Russian Ministry, its air defense downed six Ukrainian drones over Voronezh Oblast, six over Belgorod Oblast, one over Rostov Oblast and one over the Azov Sea.

The drone footage initially shows artillery gun before Ukrainian forces launch their strike. A massive explosion follows, with thick clouds of smoke rising after the hit. The Pion self-propelled gun was originally designed to destroy critical enemy targets using nuclear ammunition from a distance of up to 47 km. Development on Pion began on July, 1970, testing completed by 1973. Initial tests showed gun’s firing range fell short of expectations. But eventually resolved after modifying powder charges. In 1975 Pion was adopted by Soviet Army, by 1977, was equipped to fire nuclear ammunition. It  primarily uses OF43 high-explosive rocket-assisted projectiles, high-explosive fragmentation rounds weigh 110 kg, containing nearly 18 kg of explosives. 203mm shells can fired up to 37.5 km, performance largely depends on quality of powder charges.

Additionally, rocket-assisted projectiles, with about 14 kg of explosives, can reach upto 47.5 km – Pion’s maximum range. As to destroy heavily fortified targets, gun artilley can fire concrete-piercing projectiles, which strike targets at speeds exceeding Mach 2.

Russia has lost another banking partner as more lenders turn their back on Moscow over fear of sanctions. OCBC will cut off as another bank at the end of the month. Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp. will stop processing Russian transactions in Nov, Bloomberg reported. The S'porean bank is following lenders in China, which have largely pulled back from Russia.

OCBC bank didn't immediately respond to requests for comment from Business Insider.
Changes have come as more lenders grow hesitant about doing deals with Russian clients after West threatened to impose secondary sanctions on firms doing business in the country.
