Malaysia faces brain drain in every skilled sector, officials say

PETALING JAYA - Malaysia’s healthcare sector is not the only one facing a brain drain as other skilled sectors are facing the same problem, top officials say, as they responded to comments by a leading academic that the country’s top university loses at least 30 of its best medical graduates to Singapore every year.

New Health Minister Zaliha Mustafa said the brain drain is definitely a loss, but insisted that the right skills be inculcated to ensure that Malaysians continue to receive the highest quality services.

Mostly non-bummi who left. Bummi will stay cos nobody wants them
Drain for years already.

Malaysia has more Chinese than Singapore ....by right they should exceed Singapore by a big gap based on LKY logic.

Lacking is the leadership to harness the talents. They are more concerned about Chinese doing too well.

However doing more research on this ...this approach is not totally wrong. When an ethic group that forms majority does poorly relative to a minority, the result can be deadly tragic. Look at Indonesia during Asian Crisis. Pogroms against the Jews.

The balance is difficult. The leadership needs to bring up everyone without leaving a big group behind. ...certain things can slow down the country.

The malaysia Chinese are not going to wait around for good jobs they will go US or Singapore ..it is expected.
Who cares?
Good for them to remain a backward country  ... rustic..古早味....so can attract more tourists and visitors.
Can add to their coffer.
