Bahamian regulators now confirm that they moved $3.5 billion of FTX cryptocurrency into their own digital wallets for “safekeeping” in November, after the crypto exchange filed for bankruptcy protection.

The transfer by the country’s Securities Commission followed a tip from co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried about suspected cyberattacks on the Bahamian unit of FTX.

The commission said it awaits direction from the Bahamas' Supreme Court on delivering the assets to customers and creditors or liquidators.
