I do believe that the rental at ION is high, therefore the food is sold at a high price.  I suspect the food there is catering to tourist. Locals should eat at hawker center or food centers............................

Obviously , in fact Orchard road is aim tourists now a days. The so call "cheap foods " as usual are those fast foods.
Even come buffets have to see.

increased in salary for lower pay worker needs to be done. but then there is also a need to find a way to average down the overall cost. more import of cheap labour, people no like if too many. other way is automation, robots. maybe can up salary without causing inflation

I dont understand why these people never chek price before order ...

i mean now everything went up in price .. a bowl noodle is average 4-5 , a nasi padang a meat , 2 verg easily set you back 7-8

and if its in some fancy place ..10 is not unheard off

Nasi padang stalls charges are mostly an estimate, as opposed to real counting.....
