BANGKOK: Thailand plans to start collecting a 300 baht (US$9) fee from foreign tourists arriving in the country beginning in June, with the money raised to support visitors involved in accidents and develop tourist destinations

Singapore should also follow such ideas. But to make it right for us, we should slap a fee if people only transit and never stay to tour Singapore. Smile For those that tour or stay in sgyfor 3 days or more, we then give them some incentives, eg discounted SIA flights to their next destination.

I think PAP will only charge sinkees a big fee for going overseas for holidays. Just like casinos. Rotfl

PAP will never make things difficult for foreigners.
at least the Thai Govt got a valid reason also in fact A LOT tourist don't mind either partly once you holiday inside Thailand , at least beer, cigarettes, street hawker foods , even Hotel foods STILL cheaper than holiday in SG.

Of course things are much cheaper than Singapore, cos of our strong Singdollar.  Also the standard/cost  of living is lower than Singapore........ Laughing nudie Gesti-109
