In the present crisis, the elderly are exposed to high risks as many have to work to make endsnmeet and cannot self isolate! Many work as cleaners and menial jobs in which they face many people and hence risk getting infected.

As cases grow it is unconscionable for the govt to do nothing about this situation. Nearly half are working poor among elderly and they cannot afford to stop work and self isolate at home.

Whatever disageeement we have reducing the risk to lives of our elderly is not negotiable....if we cannot do this we have failed as a society! 

The govt have been failing our elderly for decades causing many to fall into poverty and needing to work and never retire ... But now putting their lives at risk is something else!

Look at the deaths from covid19 they are all elderly Singaporeans....their lives matter. We need tonyo put a stop to this and have our seniors stay home with paid leave until the crisis is over

Agree. Although climbing deaths is concerning, SG stats indicates if all oldies get vaccinated, death numbers can drop by 90% or so.

If only all elderlies gets vaccinated, then the number of infections and deaths will fall ....

Giving seniors full paid leave may be difficult as some could be quite rich. Otherwise, we may be giving people like lhl and hc full pay for doing nothing!

It's a balancing act. We can't be helping the old and then bankrupting our coffers, leaving later generations to take up the debt.
