mRNA was supposed to be "revolutionary" as the technology started in 1970s and intended to treat cancel patient without need for chemotherapy in 1980s. But it was so new no one dare to test in on human until decades later in 2010s.

Until now mRNA remains an unapproved technology under normal medical usage.
