When to Malaysia for a 2 weeks tour last year. Very surprised that a lot of Malaysian Non-Chinese can speak fluently in Mandarin Chinese, Teochew, Hakka, Cantonese and Hokkien etc. I mean a lot young and old of Malaysian indians and Malaysian Malay can speak fluently in Mandarin Chinese, Teochew, Hakka, Cantonese and Hokkien etc. While Singapore Chinese born in the 1990s and younger more than half cannot speak Chinese Dialects even their own Chinese dialect. And those born in 2000 and younger cannot speak proper Mandarin Chinese.
Ok noted.
