He's wrong. The pact will only spur an arms race with China and Russia, and indirectly destabilize the the situation everywhere. Australia is stupid as it is constantly being made used of by the US to provoke China while the US reaps the benefits of selling arms to Australia and at the same time not having to engage China directly.
