New information from American intelligence indicates that the attacks on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines were carried out by a "pro-Ukrainian group", although there is no evidence that they were directly related to the Ukrainian authorities, the New York Times reported.

The group could include both Ukrainians and Russians.

These reports were commented on by NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg and US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby.

At the same time , there is no evidence that the Ukrainian authorities participated in the operation , nor that the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, knew about it.

According to the "NYT", no traces of Russian involvement in the operation have been found so far.

The daily notes that Kiev officials do not always inform their American counterparts about their military operations, especially those behind enemy lines and inside Russia.

Stoltenberg, answering the question, reminded that NATO has strengthened the protection of infrastructure at the bottom of the Baltic Sea and in the North Sea. " We have increased the exchange of information between countries to avoid such attacks in the future, " he stressed.

I am still waiting for FBI/CIA/NSA to confirm what they found from the recovered wreak is indeed a Chinese "spy balloon" which US shot down over 3 weeks ago...

The underwater pipeline is tourist attraction easily available for photo taking? Must shame the contractor why they took so long to lay the pipelines...
