Singaporeans' enduring love affair with mu kratha (Thai style barbeque steamboat eaten from a bifurcated skillet/soup trough contraption) has over time spurred countless mookata establishments which, whether authentic or otherwise, sling richly varied depictions: traditional binchōtan-fired, unorthodox (think salted egg, winter melon, even durian flavoured broths), sheer vegan, muslim-friendly and so forth. On this occasion we take a gander at a relatively new player, Phuket Town Mookata that threw open doors last February.

Despite being domiciled within some blink-and-you-miss-it coffee shop, Phuket Town Mookata is slowly but surely turning heads due in no small part to its awe-inducing chef-d'oeuvre - the Mega Meat Mountain, an ingeniously agglutinated sextet of feistily seasoned pig and poultry layers deemed capable of satiating four (possibly five) carnivorous chowhounds altogether. As owner Andrew Lim himself reveals, all sauces alongside marinades are self-concocted and 100% undiluted, whilst them MSG-free soup bases come gilded with Chinese herbs for that added zing. Lest we forget, bovine fans can also check out the amped up Beef Volcano version @ $49.90.

The mega meat mountain looks seriously good!
I thought they have a woodlands branch?
I gather it will close down completely by end of the year
