Singapore is in China's sea route, where 70% of China's trade is involved.  Therefore it is to China's interest that the sea routes are open..................

US is declining. Of course, it won't just let the military, technology, finance supremacy just slip out of hand.  

So US will do one last desperate struggle to war to try to gamble before the supremacy is let slipped out of hands.
