While we can expect many Singaporean families to take advantage of travel to the 11 VTL destinations after 2 years of COVID restrictions in Singapore, the reverse is unlikely if our present dine-in rules and other SMM requirements remain. Few, if any, overseas families would choose to fly to a destination with more COVID restrictive rules than where they came from.

Any city where they can’t eat, shop and play as freely as their hometown would surely be a ‘no fly zone’. Even if such an overseas family flew in inadvertently, can we imagine asking restaurant staff to explain that we can only sit 2 pax?

So with Singaporeans likely to be flying out en-masse and a trickle coming into Singapore (maximum capped at 3,000 pax daily), domestic F&B operators may see all remaining wind sucked out from our already flagging sails.

As such, as a small step forward, without increasing infection risks between diners, we urge that the MTF allow FULLY VACCINATED NUCLEAR FAMILIES LIVING IN THE SAME HOUSEHOLD (INCLUDING CHILDREN <13) TO BE ALLOWED TO DINE IN RESTAURANTS TOGETHER. Such a family eating within the confines of their home or within a restaurant, does not add to infection risks when they mask off to share a meal together.

My take is that your request will fall on deaf ears.....
Other countries can survive, why Singapore cannot?
Someone is look see look see concept.

City by city, that's how you should get relevant data

HKG is a good example that is similar to Singapore but there are other cities more similar to SG

As a whole, using the economy situation to spearhead the Covid strategy is totally wrong and futile

When you are at war, you don't talk about how to be the first to come out of it and revive faster and better than the rest

No countries involved in the last 2 world wars think of coming out on top after the war. They only think of surviving the war

Simple chaos theory
Yup same household should be allowed to dine and not be restricted by the 2 pax rule.

The 2 pax rule should only apply to different household.
With the Return Tray policy, confirm more kenna

They got sanitize the tray area or not?

If got sanitize, got wash properly the trays or not?

Confirm instead of getting Covid, likely get food poisoning
