Southeast Asian nations such as Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia have benefited from the shift. So have Mexico and some European countries

These are jobs paying maybe 3-5 dollars per hour. Sinkies outgrew these types of jobs 30 years ago.

First, wages in China have risen too much so they need to find cheaper places.

Second, they fear China-US trade war will impact them. They manufacture outside so no need to put MIC.

China leaders afraid of Singapore spying on Chinese sensitive and advanced technology and leak them to the Americans.

Yet, strongly depending on cheap JB workers for FW levies and manufacturing company's payroll tax.

Only simple reason is the Chinese generally do not trust Singapore leaders.

Whereas, they trusted Vietnam becoz of Vietnam war and for both Malaysia and Indonesia is they re Muslim countries.
