He should have stay a while longer,
as he is probably the only one in the board that seen the last rapid rate hike.

Rest are in easy money printing era.
I don’t think he even has any meaningful role there for the longest time, special advisor is probably just a honorary term
Pinky hates him.
He's lucky not kicked out 10 years earlier.

Then he should stay on further. 
As ex PM, still carry some weight , 
unless no one in the board want to hear him.

I don’t think he even turns up for board meetings cause it’s a honorary role. His role probably limited to showing face during company wide events and show that he’s alive
