Was this the new tactic for scammer to man after 60 ?....
uncle so rich had 50K cash.
the telecommunication company that provided his phone is solely responsible for the lost.

why did telecommunication company continue to allow these scammer call to go thru.

1. phone should by default accept singapore number only, call originating within singpaore. in this way the
scammer has to be in singapore physically to scam. that will increased their risk of being caught to a very high level in this small island.
2. allow sim owner to specify their normal call number and reject the rest. many old people have phone just to connect to their family and close friends. all those tele market etc although pdpc but not working.
3. same with credit card , online banking etc.
business whose target customers is within singapore only should set their ip allow range to be singapore only.
that way can rule out or at least reduce scam comming from overseas.
if someone call to say they are who and who, request a video call to verify the person real indentity. before doing further take a photo of the person and send back if one suspect. the video call request is enough to scare off most scam.
taking of photo will put off more fierce scammer.
now these scammers try to call me using whatsapp
Silly old man so willing to part with $50k over a so called friend he hasn’t heard since kampong days is gullible and simple minded. Even if he don’t fall prey to this scam he will to others.
