I remember during one of the hearings on POFMA Minister Shanmugam tried to grill historian Thum Ping Tjin over some of his research to accuse him of being a bias historian. The whole session was 6 hours

After that POFMA was implemented and so far has only been used against opposition, PAP critics and on articles unfavorable to the PAP. He was trying to accuse a respected historian of being bias yet a lot of what he does is hardly objective.
Of course he spoke often of the seriousness of inequality in our society yet he lives in a palatial home with land space larger than that of Chiangi Jewel . He claims he has not done anything wrong. But it looks so wrong at a time Singaporeans are struggling with high cost of housing and can't even get a BTO roughly the size of his car park.
He went after critics of the govt immigration policies often portraying them as xenophobic racists lots of time was spent in Parliament "going after" Leong Mun Wai jnstead of debating the impact of these polices. His tactic of going after people instead of debating issues - does not endear him to many of us.
But all of us should not behave the same way as Shanmugan because we are not shameless. I urge everyone to give him a chance to explain clearly so that even primary school students can understand and stop making accusations against him. We should not stoop so low because we should view all this objectively.
