No wonder SGD is so strong

Never call your country "developed"!

Else your country stops developing! 

It's quite a misconception to think only SG is developed place in SE Asia. You may be surprised but the capital cities of our neighbours are all quite modern and wealthy. It's only that their rural folks are poor.

I know…I am well travelled around the region, I noticed the rapid development in Msia, Thailand and Vietnam…however developed countries are measured by high income, Spore is still the highest in ASEAN, that is why we can attract talents from neighbouring countries and get cheap labour to build our economy….if all these countries become rich, we will lose our advantage

Growth in developing Asia is forecast at 4.8% this year and in 2024, up from 4.2% last year...while

Singapore GDP grew 0.4% in Q1; full-year growth expected at mid-point of 0.5 to 2.5% range.

Singapore upbeat travel boom can cushion economy from recession despite global slowdown woes
GDP declined an annualised 0.4 per cent in the January-March period from the previous 3-months

The the city does not expect technical recession this year as a rebound in tourism props up growth as well as employment.
