Your beehoon looks good. The strands are al dente and more importantly not mushy and broken up. Your plating also beri photogenic. Good job. Which reminds me of your opposite -- what happened to Talents, long time no see.

Actually you have shown that it's a lot cheaper eating food that you cook at home than eating out.

If you look at the amount of kiam hawkers give for BCM, laksa, ckt, it's actually very very very little. I looked through all your pictures again and noticed that the kiam you cooked for yourself were much more than what one would get paying $4.50 for BCM, laksa or ckt.

Just nao I ate laksa. If you take the 3 miserable thin slices of fish cake out and place it on a plate, the 2 Tau pok slices on another plate, and put my kiam next to yours, peepur will say I am malnourished and you are eating way better.

Imagine a whole plate with only 3 thinly sliced fish cake....

But when you put everything together, it would seem like I am eating very well. Ho mia, jiak laksa. (Good life, eat laksa)
Eating at home can be cheap if you have cheap ingredients

( not from supermarkets ie NTUC that is too expensive)

Short Beans @$4/ kg with fresh chicken chop into bits 60 cents + 40 cents= $1

Bean sprouts with peanut sauce 30 cents + 25 cents= 55 cents

Total= $1.55 for my lunch
