As many of you have likely noticed, r/XXXXXX was set to private over the weekend together with many other subreddits. This is due to the exorbitant API pricing structures reddit intends to implement, which will have the consequence of killing essentially all third party apps.

While the two day protest is over, reddit has yet to make much of an attempt at addressing the issues raised by the community. As such, there is ongoing talk within the community on what the the next move should be. As admin of r/XXXXXXX, this is a heads up from me: I intend to stay in solidarity with the community and will follow the community's decision on what to do next. If the community at large decides to go private again, this subreddit will follow suit and go private too.

I hope everyone understands why this needs to be done and accept my apology for the much needed disruption.
