I know unlike some other Asian's england-lang, SG's has its well-known Singlish and we are proud of it.

Plus we don't wanna behave like some Banana...As many had discovered like the scene from Crazy Rich Asian... speaking w American or Brit accent isn't going to make any difference with your skin colour

Big Grin

more will sound like american. think partly due to their show success.
language is after all for communications. no need to worry too much about sounds like who.
or even absolute correct grammer. if you are important to the other party, they will learn to understand what you said. otherwise pure english , correct also no use one.

Agree - more so since unlike S Korea, SG has much more diversity from dialects to high/low SES england-speakers, on top of our 4 Official languages.
So unlike the S Koreans, who for over last 100 years were heavily influenced by its conquerors from Jap to now Yanks...The later as the only reference for Koreans in education, religion (X'tianity conversions), values and politics.

In contrast, SG has far more control on its unique england-development with the growth and acceptance of Singlish.
