Why he needs to open bank accounts abroad?

I also wondered why he needs an overseas account when he said that. It's not like he is a businessman. How many ministers have bank accounts overseas?

Luckily he cannot open a bank account overseas. Else his money will get stuck. The passport keeps changing. He needs to be in that country constantly to update his details. The bank account number can also change. The cheques cannot be used.

TCH's father was Chairman of OCBC from 1989 to 1991.
Does he need to open Account?
