Gone are the "glory" days of space race years that propelled Apollo moon landings and the disastrously fatal Space Shuttle each cost easily burst even the generous budget of NASA...(Not counting over 15 fatalities). So in a way India's space program is now tied to Washington's space strategies, policies and practices.
I believe it is for this reason that US and EU agreed to assist in providing deep-space communication network with  Chandrayaan-3 ...
Else there is no way the Indians will be able to maintain data and video feed from their space probe on its way to the Moon.

Since the launch of the Chandrayaan-3 mission on July 14, the ground stations of the  NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) have been supporting Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to monitor the spacecraft’s health.
