Anything...9th August 2023 – (Singapore) In July, Singapore witnessed a significant surge in the number of Chinese mainland tourists visiting the country, as reported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). The figure soared to 231,330, doubling the previous month’s count of 113,290 and establishing a new record for Chinese mainland visitors in Singapore this year. With the Chinese mainland topping the list of tourist-contributing markets in July, followed by Indonesia, Australia, India, and Malaysia, Singapore experienced a remarkable increase in overall visitor arrivals, welcoming a total of 1.42 million visitors last month, marking a notable 25.6 per cent rise compared to June.

Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has been appointed to the new post of deputy secretary-general of the People’s Action Party (PAP), after the party’s top decision-making body met on Saturday.

Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, who was previously an assistant secretary-general, has been appointed PAP chairman.
