The Government expects a deficit of S$3 billion for Budget 2022, equivalent to about 0.5 per cent of Singapore's annual economic output.

The increase tax for top earners are really peanuts... 1%..

Meanwhile the tax effect for no so rich is definitely more than 1%. Gst itself is already 2% and poorer folks sure have higher propensity to consume, meaning most of their income will be spent thus taxed.

What you need to know about the upcoming GST hike from 2023:

📈 The increase in GST will be staggered in 2 steps – from 7-8% in Jan. 2023, followed by another increase from 8-9% in Jan. 2024.
